Development/progress has been on a long hiatus. I have just returned home from travelling interstate for various tertiary interviews and now I can start contributing again. I think a few changes in order, but I will await consent from the other Admins first. But, basically, from now on:
*Updates will be more often
*To Do section will be updated each day
*Development will ALWAYS be continued by at least one person on any given day, in order to keep the project moving
More will be added as I think of them , so watch this space!

That all sounds great, but thats what we have been trying to do. As have been said for awhile now, we can't do anything until we get an LFS/text system. As far as updates daily, we plan to do that after it starts going, but we can't just post "LFS system" every day. We are stuck until we get that. _________________

| If I may ask, why is it hard to make a distribution from LFS? |

Well, it's not that it's hard, it is just that last time I tried using Ubuntu as the host system, and it failed. Have you tried LFS before? If so, would you like to create a base system for us? Someone with experience in LFS can do it quicker than me (a noob at LFS) _________________ --SamFisher47

| I would like to help, but I have neither experience nor knowledge of LFS. However, I downloaded the ISO for the LiveCD, so I was wondering if I could assist your project that way. Perhaps you could describe how to make a base system in a nutshell? |

First, Sam, sorry I'm not able to take on the LFS project. I would love to, but as a student and family man I have very little time to devote to getting it off the ground myself. As I said, I'm happy to help test and add material after we get a base system. We may consider starting from another text-based distro and building from there, like Arch. Just a thought, something to look into.
CartoonFan555, if you want to try on the LFS system yourself from the LiveCD go here: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/, and follow the links to LFS, and the LiveCD for getting started tutorials. Best I can offer. |

Sorivenul: Don't be sorry, that's completely understandable and fine. I'll let you know as soon as a text-based system is up and running.
CartoonFan555: The best place to start is just following the steps in the LFS book. Whenever you have time, look through that if you can.
Currently, I'm building GCC (I'm trying with Ubuntu one last time and it seems to be working thus far) and it looks like I will probably have it done in 1-2 days time. I'll keep everyone updated! _________________ --SamFisher47

Hope everything goes well with that. I think Ubuntu would be good since its light weight compared to others. _________________
