In the next few days, we will begin construction of the Gnome version. It will be built from the new Gnome (the great 2.20) version. It will have to be compiled by hand, since they do not actually distribute the version as a whole without anything in it. We are more than welcome to try using the Live CDs first, let me know if you would prefer that.

I guess live CDs are a good option in case someone's computer dies, but wouldn't it be quite slow? Perhaps, if we have enough testing computers, we can just create an installable distribution first? Tell me your ideas!

Yeah, I have two computers that can be used for testing ones. So, I suppose we can compile it from scratch if that is preferred.

Yes, that would be good, if it is indeed better.

In the long run, it would be more convenient, just time consuming to start. I will begin compiling them then if we are agreed on that.

OK sounds good. If we do other necessary tasks in parallel, it should be perfect (such as logo, website, etc)

I can test on my computer -- for 32/64 bit -- AMD supports both.

Have we gotten anywhere on this recently? I've got a spare machine to test on as well.

I'm currently working on building a basic LFS system. I'm having trouble starting from Ubuntu (i.e. I don't know what to do Sad) but next Monday my internet connection will be uncapped and I can download the LFS LiveCD at full speed (attempting to download at my capped 64k produces timeout errors and sometimes it just refuses to start).

Hopefully, by next Wednesday I will have uploaded it somewhere for testing! Very Happy
